Best River Fishing Yak

I got my moken to fish rivers for smallmouth and spots. For the price and amount of useful features it comes with, its a great deal. On rivers, access points are more like trails than boat ramps so its really easy to get it to the water when its not a long walk. I even pull it over an old 5 foot mill damn to get to one of the honey holes. The rear rails are a big plus because a lot of yaks only have front gear rails. The two rear rod holders also slant back so your rods don't get caught up in trees as much. I don't use a fish finder, but the pod is really useful for storage. Overall this kayak is perfect for someone to looking to get on rivers and smaller lakes. Lastly, Fellfree has excellent customer service. They responded very fast and took care of my concerns quickly.

The Feelfree Moken 12.5 V2 is an amazing kayak and honestly I can't believe its sells for under $1000! So many features that you can't find on other brand's kayaks! This is the kayak you need!

The Moken

Just got my Moken recently. Been using it a bunch! super good entry level fishing kayak. At the highest seat position it isnt as stable if you are going to lean over to grab a fish into the yak. In the lowest seat position it is really stable. Standing is a bit wobbly, but if you dont plan on standing it works really well. Paddles easy and cuts through the water nicely. Very nimble for a 12’ yak. The overall haul is strong but, I can say the rudder end portion of the yak is a definite weak point as I cracked it on the bottom side when I slightly dropped it about 6” off the ground (car-topping). I would say be careful when unloading onto the rear end to get to the wheel on the keel. Front storage is big enough and is water tight in my experience. If you want to use 3rd party accessories you will need adapters to fit the rail system on the feelfree yaks. It is light enough to load on your own. Overall, I would like to see feelfree beef up the rudder end to prevent cracking.

Affordable Fishing Kayak With Great Stability

A little over 3 weeks ago I purchased my FeelFree Moken 12.5 v2 from a dealer about 80 miles away from my house. At first I wasn't sure if I had made the right decision or not since I am a pretty heavy man at 310lbs. After 3 weeks, I am more than happy to report that this kayak is performing quite well. I haven't stood up yet, but will do that soon. I will say that I do believe if you are going to be on big lakes with big boats, be sure and keep your seat in the lowest position for overall greater stability. My only wish is that the kayak was a couple inches wider. I'll definitely upgrade to the Lure model down the road. Joshua David- Championsfishing.com
